Nick Garcia has cemented himself as a master of capturing the intuitive, sensitive and provocative. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, a land of vibrant carnival energy and mysticism, he began his photography training as an apprentice under his father Enrique Garcia. Blessed to grow up in a world of cameras and lenses, Nick gained vast knowledge of film and most importantly a passion for life and its eternal vitality in photos. To further his art he traveled to the United States at age 21 to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
After concluding his studies, Nick decided to call Miami home and after more than 15 years of professional experience, Nick has become a favourite amongst editors and creatives for his ability to understand the intricacies of powerful images. His passion for both architecture and fashion give him a signature edge for image composition.
Today Nick continues to evolve as a commercial photographer focused in fashion, lifestyle, editorial work, interior design and architecture.
He’s a regular contributor of magazines such as Billbord Magazine, Miami Magazine, Ocean Drive, Tv & Novelas, Florida Trend, Bespoke, Brickell and Key Biscayne Magazines among others. He’s also proud to work with music artists, celebrities, and with clients such as Avianca Airlines, Citi Bank, Dove, Intercontinental Hotels, ITAU Bank, LG Electronics, Link Construction Group, Marques de Riscal Wines, Marriot Hotels, Real Sangria, Silvia Tcherassi, St. Regis Hotels and many more.
One of his photography rituals is working with his father during the acclaimed “Carnaval de Barranquilla” to publish the books “Caras y Mascaras”. Another passion is music - just don’t ask him to sing - and he’s been fortunate enough to enjoy countless hours with great musicians, not only admiring their work but also shooting their projects.
