Barranquilla, Colombia, is Nick’s homeland and his work reflects the vibrant color and energy he was constantly surrounded by. Photography was a family business as Nick’s father Enrique Garcia was one of Colombia’s most revered talents and Nick found his calling early on, often working by his father’s side.
After attending FIT in New York Nick found a new home in Miami where he studied under a variety of successful professional photographers, with whom he traveled the world as he perfected his talent for creating compelling imagery of people and places.
Nick has always been recognized as having an eye for design and beauty. Diligently working to perfect his vision he realized early on that he loved creating visual imagery that was colorful, elegant, bold and impactful.
“ As I create, the visual aspect is always what calls my attention. I notice color, light and texture first, then shadow and shape draw my eye in. Living in Barranquilla I was surrounded by color, it was all around, from the big blue sky to the Carnivals. My sense of color was created at an early age and has grown for a true love for saturated colors”.
